We just finished Easter. I loved our Easter this year. I'm sure some of that enthusiasm is due to fact that there was real people in the building. I think we all appreciate in-person community more than we ever have.
But where do we go from here? Our gratitude for analogous community and our thirst for normalcy are powerful motivators and may be driving us in the wrong direction if we are not careful. Easter is opportunity for us to embrace the sacrifice of Christ and the call to be dedicated followers of Jesus. This path is not the easy path; it's not a normal path. It may have been wonderful to embrace an Easter that was significantly better than last year, but let's keep our eyes on the goal. Easter is annual celebration that serves as a reminder for us to pick up our crosses and follow Jesus (Matt. 16.24).
