Face The Music

Bill and Ted is a classic for my generation. The silliness and Keanu Reeves made for a brilliant mix of comedy that took us all by surprise. Recently, the seers of film have revived the Bill and Ted sojourn for an updated chapter in being excellent and partying on. Personally I was suprised to see our dear Keanu signed up for this new installment. In the story, we see an example of how musicians are inspired by those who have gone before them. The musical craft of today’s musicians are built by the pioneers of music before them. I couldn’t help but see the parallel of our faith. Those who have gone before us have lived their testimony with power and grace. We are inspired by their story. We see the hope of God at work in them. We are encouraged by them and are inspired to live out our story of faith. We all desire that God would use us and if any hear of our story, they would see God’s work. Our lives are like the songs of today. We don’t live and create in a vacuum. We are encouraged and inspired by God’s work in those who have gone before us. The champions of our faith have helped go further and farther. We stand on their shoulders. Our testimony is our song. Our testimony has been shaped by those who have sung before us.
